Game: Medicine-Ball Smash. At either end of the game space, a target object(s) will be set up to be knocked down and a “throwing line” will be designated with cones for each team. Class is divided into two teams. Standing behind the “throwing line,” one athlete from Team 1 throws the medicine ball at the target object. If the athlete knocks it down, his or her team takes a victory lap around the gym while Team 2 does a given number of repetitions of a movement, such as 5 push-ups. If the athlete does not knock the object down with the throw, his or her team does the required repetitions of the movement. Once a victory lap is over and movements are completed, an athlete from Team 2 attempts to knock over the other object.
